You just have to approach the game with great work ethic in the weight room/during conditioning, which will obviously help your stamina and muscles through the course of the game, and you must practice VERY often. Practice shooting hoops for a couple of hours by yourself every day. When you are practicing with your teammates, try to show the coaches that you want to become a leader on the team... that will definitely earn you some respect. Good luck man!
im pretty sure you just go balls out for your whole life and train as hard as you can everyday and you have to want it more than anything and not let anything get in the way
asllong as you have heart you can do anything you set your mind to and that you are willing to dedicate your life to reaching the goal you make for yourself.
All you have to do is devote your life to the game starting now which means practice everyday and work out all the time. This will show that your committed to your dream. Also don't get injured, but don't be afraid either. DONT TAKE STEROIDS!
Just keep developing greater technique throughout the years and practice practice practice and you could become good at anything, but to be the best than you would have to waste your life at it unless you were born with natural talent
Doing your best in all sports is probably the best thing to do. the harder you try the better you'll be. Being the best is very hard to achieve because there are always other people out there working just as hard as you are, but if you really put your mind into it you can achieve anything
I agree with what Shorty said about as long as you have heart and passion for what youre doing then you can achieve it. I also think you have to devote all your time to practicing and getting better at the game.
Personally, I would imagine that it takes more than having a passion for the sport...more than *wanting* to be great. The passion and the 'want' will take you far, but not, I think, *all* the way. For that one needs that 'something special' - the heart certainly - but also not just practicing, but developing an appreciation of the physicality of the sport, the strategies, the physiology, the philosophy, and the physics of the sport. Some of that is innate and cannot be learned, other aspects can be nurtured. I don't think its wise to be one-sided in any aspect of one's life - so I would disagree with those above who said 'you have to spend all your time practicing' - practice is essential, but so is a wider outlook. It only takes dedication to the game a a little luck that a scout comes and sees your talents. That will give you the base you need to reach your goal.
